PRO HART Australiana ARNOTTS BISCUIT TIN 'Outback' NICE

Here is a great Arnott's Tin & a very nice piece of Australiana!  This is an Arnott's 'OUTBACK' Biscuit Tin designed with fantastic artwork by the famous Australian artist PRO HART!!!  It is in very good condition & it would look wonderful on display or as part of any collection!  I don't see these lovely tins around much - so don't miss out on this one!!!

The pictures around the sides of the tin are signed - PRO HART 75 & titled, "THE HUT". - The picture on the Lid is just signed - PRO HART 75.

This is a vintage item but I am not sure of the exact age of this biscuit tin. I was assuming that it was from 1975, however I am not 100% sure. It has No Bar-code on it so it definitely is not a modern tin.  The back of the tin says:-

Arnott's OUTBACK Biscuit Assortment - 900g Net - This tin is one of three designed by Australian artist, Pro Hart, who is celebrated for his individualistic interpretation of the bush and the "outback".  The designs in the collection are, The Homestead, The Trapper's Camp, and The Woolshed....etc... (I think this tin is the Trapper's Camp).

MEASURES: 12cm Tall X 22cm Across (widest part).    WEIGHT: 398gms (unpackaged).

CONDITION: (Please use all the photos as a guide to condition also.)

Overall I would have to say that this tin is in great condition!  The artwork still looks great & it is bright & not faded.  It has some minor flaws which I will list below.

1. There is some surface rust inside the tin (see photos). It is mainly around the circular edges inside. There is also some surface rust around the outside rims of the tin & lid - (the unpainted edges that go around the base of the tin & lid).  This isn't too noticeable because of the dark colour of the metal as it blends in with it a bit. There is also some very light, small specs of surface rust inside the lid on the very edge, very minor, & a couple of spots of surface rust on the base/bottom of the tin. Please check it out in the photos!  It isn't too bad really, the worst is the bit inside the tin around the edges & this isn't seen anyway & really isn't that major either.  There is NONE ON THE ARTWORK itself & the rest of the tin is very good & clean.

2.  It does have a couple of scratches on it.  The worst scratch is the one on the side near the Windmill - & it isn't very big or too bad really (see the photo).  There are a couple of lighter smaller scratches around the side too, these are very minor & don't damage the artwork in any great way & the tin still looks great.  Around the outer-edges of the Lid there are some small areas of rubbing & light wear to the paint, but this is also quite minor & also not that noticeable either.  When the Lid is removed there is some rubs & light scuffs & wear around the rim of the tin there too.  This area is not seen when the Lid is on & this is pretty normal stuff too & this one is better than many I've seen.  I have taken some photos of the around the sides of the tin & in some the Lid is on & in some the Lid is off - so you can see for yourself how minimal the wear is.

3.  I am not sure if this is a flaw or not - but there are some small, yellow spots & slotches on one side. You can see a yellow-spot on the Pro Hart signature that is on the side of the tin & then there are a couple of patches/spots of yellow nearby this too. (see photos).  At first I just thought it was part of the artwork but now I am not sure - something might have splashed on here & whatever it was has faded these areas to a Yellow colour. Maybe it is meant to be like this, I'm not sure.  It isn't paint or anything like that stuck on the surface as it is smooth to touch.  I only really just noticed it when taking the photos & I am not even sure if it is a flaw or whether it was just done when the tin was manufactured.  Anyway I will leave it up to you to decide, so check it out in the photos. I have probably made it sound worse than it is but I like to be thorough so I mention any little things I see.  I am not an expert but I think these things are really mostly very minor damage & that overall it is in great condition!
