You are bidding on a phone that means business - the
Palm Treo Pro. This phone has amazing reception, super long battery
life, the incredible versatility of the Windows Mobile platform, and supports HSDPA and
Stereo Bluetooth. The Treo Pro is a fantastic high-end phone with all the
business features for even the busiest executive. This particular Treo
Pro
comes with its full original retail package, and is in mint condition.
It also comes with a 2gb microSD card and some other
goodies as a bonus.
It is also completely unlocked, and free to use on ANY network in
Australia and overseas, as it is Quadband GSM as well as 2100mhz and
850mhz 3G, which means it works perfectly with all 3G networks in
Australia, from Optus, Vodafone, 3 and even Telstra's Next G
service.

The Verdict:
In terms of design, performance and non-OS features, this is the
best hardware Palm has ever made. This is
a phone for the corporate crowd, and WinMo 6.1 can do things and
reach audiences the PalmOS never could. That it is aimed towards a
business crowd also justifies the $550 unlocked price tag. People in
the corporate world travel to other countries, and need to switch
SIM cards quickly and effortlessly.
The feature that deserves the most mention is the
redesign—because it's beautiful. Not only is the phone comparable in
size and weight to the iPhone 3G (just a bit wider and thicker), but
it's visually appealing. The shiny black case, and jewel-style
Centro keyboard gives it a look that is appealing and eye-catching
without being gaudy. Rounded edges prevent it from feeling too
sterile, and the flush screen marks the first time a Palm
touchscreen hasn't been sunken in.
Like the
Palm 800w the
Treo Pro it has
been given many of the same key features. The 320x320 resolution
screen, GPS and one-button wi-fi are all present, and the 400 MHz
processor and 256 MB RAM really run
Windows Mobile
6.1 well. It's as fast and responsive as I've ever seen the platform
run, due in large part to having proper components. And the 1500 mA
battery means you can get a few days worth of moderate usage between
charges.
As far as real-life performance goes, the
full-sized keyboard is definitely more useful than the one on the
Centro, but the lack of definition between keys caused me to make
typos on a semi-regular basis. Anywhere signal strength was strong,
the 3G was speedy, and call quality was loud and clear. The GPS,
complete with turn-by-turn navigation, worked well enough, but
seemed to take an abnormally long time to connect to the satellite.
And the touchscreen was as responsive and pinpoint accurate as Palm
has ever made.
Some of the custom Palm features from the 800w,
such as their own chat-style SMS interface and the GPS search bar on
the home screen are absent, which is unfortunate, because they were
both useful. And in direct light, the screen had a tendency to
washout and be difficult to read, even on the highest brightness
setting. A dedicated button to take you back to the home screen
would have also been nice, but it doesn't kill the phone.
If you're looking for a Windows Mobile
phone, I'd strongly consider the
Treo Pro, as it
has a good balance of design, features and performance for the user.
And even if you're not looking for a WinMo phone, it just might
tickle your fancy enough to have one around. [Treo

This phone is in excellent
condition - save for a few very light marks on the body that is
unavoidable considering the Treo Pro's 100% glossy black finish, and a
very light scuff on the space-bar (see photo below) there is not a
single scratch or dent on the phone anywhere. It has always been well
taken care of. The original receipt and proof of purchase
from JB Hi Fi is included, dated 16 April 2009, which means
that this Treo Pro comes with its remainder of 12 month warranty
(5.5 months left)! This instantly makes this Treo Pro a safer buy than
most others on eBay.
This phone has Telstra branded firmware
on it, but has no hardware branding or logos at all. Rest assured, apart
from these logos (which can be mostly removed through various settings),
it works perfectly with all other Australian networks, and even
successfully receives the required internet settings for each network
over the air!
Please note that this phone is
completely UNLOCKED from all networks, and as it is
quadband, will also work everywhere in the
world, including the United States. It will
also support all 3g networks in Europe as well as most of Asia, thanks
to its support of the 2100mhz
and 850mhz UMTS bands. This means that this e71
works perfectly with Optus, Vodafone and Three's 3G networks, but also
with Telstra's NextG network, for superior speed and coverage. This
phone is also ideal for Three's "Mega 3G" service which roams onto the
NextG network to retain high speed data in rural areas.
As an added bonus, I am including a
full version of Garmin Mobile XT 5.0 with 2008 Australian Maps
- all for free! This enables the use of the e71 as a fully-fledged
satellite navigation system, thanks to the inbuilt GPS receiver. The
maps are loaded onto the phone, so the system will work without being
connected to the internet, and will cost you literally nothing to use
(unlike the official Nokia version which costs a certain amount every
month to use).
This item is sold as
working and exactly as described above but there will be no express or
implied warranties included with this phone
with the exception of those that cannot be contracted out of (Consumer
Transactions Act 1972 (SA) s 6). As an original
receipt for warranty purposes is included all claims should go through
JB Hi-Fi or Palm Australia directly.

giving me their postal address), and pay, notifying me of the type of
payment they will use (unless paying by direct bank deposit). I
accept Direct Deposit/Bank Transfer into my ANZ Bank account
(preferred), an Australian Post Money Order or Cheque in special
circumstances (will require clearance before item will be sent - please
email first if intending to pay by cheque) . Of course, the
winning bidder will receive my bank details automatically at eBay's
checkout and can deposit the money instantly! NO payment methods other
than the above described are accepted, please be clear on this before

If paying by direct deposit, please leave either
