Playing for the School
Jack Heming
published 1961, first edition, Purnell & Sons, London
Brookwood
School was in a bad way. Not only had the masters abandoned games, but
the boys had practically done likewise. Then two newcomers put in an
appearance and between the new Games Master and an insignificant new
boy, Brookwood is revolutionised.
Sundry japes provide plenty of fun, and the sporting scenes as the school wakes into life again are full of thrills.
