This PowerMac G4 is one of the graphite PowerMac G4s (aka Digital Audio), and has the capability of being upgraded in many ways (see Advantages below).
ADVANTAGES:
Here are some of the advantages of this PowerMac G4 over other all-in-one G4s or similar, and how easy it is to upgrade at any later stage:
-- The processor can be upgraded with a 1Ghz processor or higher, and can be upgraded to as high as a G4/2Ghz Dual (we do not stock or sell these; this is just the highest card you can upgrade to)
-- Upgrade to the latest OS being Leopard 10.5.x (only with a 1Ghz processor or above)
-- Upgrade to a total of 1.5Gb RAM -- more than enough for most people
-- Upgrade to a total of 4x 160Gb HDs with no additional cards (in theory, if you remove the optical drive; maximum formatted capacity is 128Gb)
-- Upgrade to the latest and greatest optical drive with no expensive cost ie: currently we use a Pioneer A118 DVD-R
-- Add additional PCI cards for higher end ATA drives or for the now preferred faster SATA drives
-- Upgrade the AGP video card to as high as 256Mb dual head for driving 2 monitors (CRT and/or LCD)
-- Upgrade the AGP video card to output to S-Video and display all your movies + photos + iTunes through your TV/Plasma/LCD and through your sound system
-- Add additional PCI graphics cards for multiple monitor view
-- Add additional PCI peripheral device cards ie: USB 2; multiple FireWire 400 and/or 800; eSATA cards; high end SCSI cards, etc
-- Replace external monitor at a relative cheap cost ie: no built-in CRT or LCD monitor that is expensive to repair or replace
-- Replace any part within the computer at little cost eg: no expensive built-in or external power supply
If you can find an Apple computer that can do all of the above, let us know
