Greetings! You are bidding on one of my handmade viking style shields. These are quality handmade viking shields suitable for re-enactment and live-steel combat. The wood is 1/2" cabinet grade birch plywood. The handle is red oak. The boss is hand hammered from 20 gauge steel. The handle and the rim are leather wrapped, secured by glue and iron tacks. The handle and the boss themselves are glued and riveted to the shield by driving steel nails through, bending them over and hammering them flush. This was the technique used by the vikings. There are many shields available online, many of which are not suitable for combat. I do not use cheap materials such as particle board or metal alloys. I encourage you to compare my shields with others available. These shields are made with real wood, real leather, and real steel from the workbench of a viking decendant. They are made to be fully useable and traditional in design. This is a solid shield, sturdy, and ready for battle! Feel free to contact me with any questions. DIMENSIONS:

The shield itself is 24" in diameter. The hole for the hand is 5.5" in diameter. Please note that because each shield is hand made there may be slight variations such as the exact color of the leather. The general design, dimensions, and quality materials are the same.
