SFH-600GP 24K Gold-Plated flugelhorn is the perfect choice for a student,

This horn is brand new and has never been played.
Like cornets and trumpets, flugelhorns play in
the key of Bb. This instrument is slightly mellower than the
cornet and produces a 'fatter' sound. The flugelhorn evolved
from the bugle by adding valves. It is often used inconcert
bands and in some jazz bands.
Like cornets, the flugelhorn has a conical bore
(trumpets have cylindrical) which means the tubing starts
narrow at the mouthpiece and gets wider towrds the bell. It
is however a wider bore than the cornet. It is this bore that
makes the flugelhorn more agile when playing fast passages
and gives the instrument a warmer, more mellow tone.
Unlike other gold instruments that are floating around
on eBay this quality flugel horn is plated in genuine 24K
gold, and not just finished in gold lacquer. The gold-plate
means that the finish is much more durable and adds to the
warm tone of the instrument.
