Coin operated telephone

Hi everyone, up for auction is a coin operated

 public telephone in very good condition.

When plugged into my home line I can receive calls and

have a good clear conversation. The ringing tone/bell

 sounds great - it has an old school ring tone!

When you pick up the receiver, there is a dial tone

however I can't seem to dial out.  I think this

would be a quick fix for the phone-minded person

or someone with knowledge about these sorts of phone.

When you place your money in the coin slot nothing registers

 on the digital display. If you press the green

button your money goes into the coin tray.  If you

 place the receiver back down the

money comes out of the coin return.

The phone and heavy duty steel stand/frame are in very good condition. This could be mounted either on a bench top or a wall.

There is a strange looking key which fits into the back of the phone and turns approximately half way around (I have no idea what use this is).  Serial number: 198 236.

The coin tray does have a lock to it but there is no key.  The tray can be slid backwards and forwards easily. There is also a lock behind the receiver which locks the phone onto the steel frame. Unfortunately I do not have a key for this lock.

It measures approximately 25cm high/phone, 51cm high/stand,  18.5 cm wide and 28cm deep.  It weighs approximately 9.5 kilos.

I would prefer this item to be picked up, however I will bubble wrap and pack this item at no extra cost so that it’s ready for postage.
