Quad 33 changeover board set

Attention: This is a changeover board service for your existing Quad 33, NOT a pre-amp or set of boards for sale.

The Quad 33 is a classic Quad product, with variable-slope filter and level-matching facilities which are still unbeaten.

However after 40 years, or even 10, it needs a service! Many components tend to dry out, and some components used then were not at all comparable to the quality of modern components. Send me all the removable boards from your Quad 33 and I will send you a second-hand but renovated replacement set as follows:

Phono amplifier board

Renovated with 9 modern low-ESR capacitors

Phono adapter board

Renovated to adapt the input impedance to the modern standard of 47KOhms (was 68K), and to fit the unused S1 side with components so it can be used as a CD input

Tape adapter board

Renovated with four metal-oxide voltage-divider resistors, and two modern low-ESR electrolytic capacitors, their value corrected to improve bass phase coherence

Amplifier boards

Renovated with 3 modern low-ESR electrolytic capacitors each

All replacement electrolytics are selected low-ESR audio types. All replacement resistors are metal oxide. The replacement boards are genuine original Quad boards made to the original circuits and specifications, and revised by Dada Electronics.

Note that this upgrade does not cover the PSU board or the motherboard, and so doesn't include everything we carry out in our Quad 33 compete revision and upgrade service.

The boards are shipped tested and working and are guaranteed for 6 months against faulty parts or workmanship.

Because of the nature of this service, only complete sets of working 33 boards can be accepted. This means:

1. Both amplifier boards, removable from inside the case
2. The phono preamp board, removable from inside the case
3. The tape adapter board removable from the rear
4. The phono adapter board, removable from the rear.

Turnaround time 1 week.

Buyer pays for transport to & from Melbourne. Please pack carefully. Your packing will be re-used for return.
