Hakea plurinervia is one of about 140 hakea, all endemic to Australia and varying greatly in habit, leaf shape and flower colour.
This one is an erect shrub to 3 metres by 2 metres with long narrow eliptical foliage to 17 cm. Blooms are globular clusters in cream to white, produced in the spring and early summer. It is a generally hardy frost hardy species. Both birds and bees are attracted to its nectar producing flowers.
Propagation is easy from seed which germinates in 3-4 weeks. Good drainage and a sunny position are best and staking is beneficial. This species tolerates a range of climatic conditions and has proved frost hardy to -7*C.
