Marcus Berkmann's unique cricket book, described as the Fever Pitch of cricket. It's about playing the game shining a light on the obsessions and disappointments of the dedicated fan and pathologically hopeful player - the partially sighted umpires, the batting average lower than the shoe size etc. But it also has some shrewd comments on the game at a higher level and the agonies of following a national team (in this case England) A funny and knowing book - great winter reading for those tired of plastic autobiographies. 242 pages clean, tight and unmarked inside but with a creased spine and some creases on the cover back bottom right corner.
