Today we have a very large 18th century Delft Charger.Proberly from one of the large manufacturing areas London ,Bristol or maybe liverpool/
It is a wonderful charger with excellent detail in the traditional blue and white.Delft was orginally a tinned glazed earthern ware used to imatate porcelain as porcelain was not been made in europe until the 18th century(This comment excludes the rare Medici soft paste porcelain of the 17th century)The match boxes is dwarfed by its size.It has the normal chipping around the edges which you will find on ALL delft plates of this age (never buy one that is not I would seriously doubt its age)t has a stable split crack (not restoration) unfortunate tribulations of time (see photos more if required). The scene is a chinese pagoda pattern in chinorsrie Style and was bought from a reputable dealer in the UK /The inventory mark is still attached to the underneath of the charger.Age is approx 1760 These are ever increasingly hard items to come by so good luck
