BACKGROUND:

THIS IS A RARE OLD JAVANESE SWORD  CIRCA LATE 18OO's.OBTAINED IN YOGYAKARTA SEVERAL YEARS AGO, I WAS INFORMED AT THE TIME THAT IT WAS A SOLDIERS (PRAJUIT) SWORD FROM THE SULTAN'S PALACE - THE  'KRATON', YOGYAKARTA.

OTHER INFORMATION:

THE WILAH IS DAPUR NAGA. I HAD IT CLEANED BUT IT SHOWED NO PAMOR, HOWEVER YOU CAN SEE THE FOLDED DAMASCENE LAYERS. MY GUESS IS THE CLEANING DIDN'T BRING IT OUT OR IT IS ALL  FOLDED IRON BLADE?

THE HILT IS HARDWOOD TIMBER WITH BRASS END PIECES WITH A BRASS JAVA STYLE HILT GUARD.

THE SCABBARD IS TIMBER WITH A LEATHER SHEATH STITCHED AROUND IT. THERE IS A BRASS HILT PROTECTOR AND MAMAS SILVER END PROTECTOR.

OVERALL LENGTH: 64 CM

WIDTH: 11 CM
