RARE RED TRANSFER WARE TANKARD ~ ROBIN HOODS WELL, NOTTINGHAM

A super and unusual tankard or Ale Mug, with "Robin Hoods Well" depicting the legendary hero on horseback chatting to two ladies at the well, on one side, and "Robin Hood's Men Preparing Dinner" on the other.  Nice raspberry red / pink transfer.  Condition is excellent, an old hairline, see picture, usual glaze crazing and a little age staining, a super display.  Good pearly lead glaze.

Diameter 4 inch x Height 4 inch.  circa 1850.
