RESEARCHED ORDER OF GLORY II CLASS #24495

Order of Glory II Class #24495 in excellent condition. Made of silver and enamels. Uncut connecting ring on 5 sided steel suspension.
 
Awarded by 83rd Guards Rifle Regiment, 8 Guards Army.
 
During the penetration of the enemy defense 300 meters west of the village of Genrikuv on the west bank of the Vistula River on 14 January 1945, while acting as a telephone operator in the 2nd Battalion, Comrade Simonenko followed the attacking infantry and was laying communications cable into a trenchline.  He suddenly encountered four German soldiers who were carrying the deputy battalion commander for political units, Guards Lieutenant Kuznetsov, who was wounded in both arms and was incapable of resisting.  Risking his life, Comrade Simonenko entered into an uneven fight, killing three of the soldiers with his pistol and capturing the fourth.
 
Sadly I have to seel this genuine piece due to change in circumstances in my life. Unconditional money back guarantee. Comes with Russian Archive document and English translation. This soldier was recommended for a Red Banner but was awarded the Glory II instead.
