You know I never did see E.T. when it was in movie theaters. I finally saw parts of it when it was shown on free TV about 10 years later. It was the smash film hit of the summer of 1982 and is the cover story. In music news we lost James Honeyman-Scott, of the Pretenders. Early reports were inconclusive, but he had admitted to using drugs. We now know that was the cause of death. He was 25. In the early 70s Dave Edmunds had a hit with I Hear You Knocking. For the rest of the decade he was putting out great albums that rock radio ignored. He was out with his seventh LP titled D.E.7th, using the same guys he was with when he recorded as Love Sculpture. The article is split up on two pages. Also out was a book on Jerry Lee Lewis called, Hellfire. Just about a half page review. The Rolling Stones get two articles here. One is a look at their European tour and the other is a review of their Still Life album. Also a look at Simon & Garfunkel's European tour. Someone tried to remove the address label and wasn't successful. No other major defects. |
