The main innovation with the 8.08B is the depth and distance verifier and the level setting function for depth and distance. You can now even detect from below the target if it's above you say on a hill. Also no longer will you worry that your target is too deep for your metal detector. You can set it to a foot (or your metal detector range) if you want. You could even set it for surface or five or fifty feet (caves) or down to 3 inches for pinpointing in crevices etc.. You no longer need a special pinpointer. Plus, gone is the old fear that an iron pipe is throwing you out from 500 feet away. Your search area is not over there anymore since as well as depth level you can set search area extent. If you just want to screen a square mile, set and detect. It won't work outside that area. Once again this area can be a foot square ...any area whatsoever. Equally interesting is the function that will tell you the shape of your target. All this is as simple as pushing two or three keys. It works like a mini-computer that will examine every detail of your target. You could for instance set to 2 feet depth, only to 100 feet from the car and gold coins. You will not detect any target outside these parameters!!
You can lock it so no-one but yourself can use it, even program for various substances so you can check for them in the same search area.

Q. This is hard to believe. I know from experience you must have encountered crackpot skeptics and have been laughed at somewhere along the line. How did you fare over 5 years doing well with such a thought-provoking product?
A. Indeed. If the user is ambidextrous or left-handed we urge them to advise us so we can assist them use the unit. There has only been one other reason over 700 sales and that is the unit has been faulty. There was a misguided report re an early RC prototype that was responsible for a lot of erroneous notions. There are metal detector fanatics who don't like the word long-range.
Their handedness and thus inability to use the units is why the odd skeptic voices a fallacy. As well as business agendas.These skeptics sometimes react in silly ways calling these instruments scam and one prolific nuisance even often mischievously(to say the least) claims those that sell them are criminal. Since 2002 there have only been two or three but their alias habit creates the impression there are many.
It's a worry, but left-handers do have problems and exposed trolls will say anything. Do not believe these stirrers but make up your own mind . Be aware they are cleverer than you think and don't reply to their emails pretending to be consumer advocates. They can't use the units. We can solemnly avow and attest to the legitimacy of this seemingly impossible detector.
We can report that on two or three occasions a batch of Examiners has been manufactured and has been 'recalled'. On these rare occasions we have always offered the user brand-new replacements. This technology is so cutting edge that sometimes new ideas require worldwide application.
