A romantic print by Australian Artist Rupert Bunny from the original in oil created between 1908-1910.

 


Rupert Bunny was born in Melbourne in 1964 and spent most his life in France.  He arrived in Paris when Impressionism was at its height, his painting reflecting in a conservative manner, the work of some of the foremost artists of the day. 

In 'Summer Time' one is reminded of Renoir.  French in Mood and feeling, Bunny's was a vision of leisure giving an intimate glimpse of the charm and elegance of life at the beginning of the century. 

'Summer Time' is among Bunny's most charming examples of this kind of painting.  One of several related works, it was painted at Royan, probably when the artist and his wife styed there during a summer's holiday.
