RESEARCHED BRAVERY MEDAL #426028

Made of silver. Awarded August 1943 to Sergeant Syutkin by the 277th Independent Mortar Regiment. Syutkin was ordered to move his observation position forward and while under heavy enemy rifle and machine gun fire, continued to call in fire on the enemy positions for 4 continuous hours.

 Lowest recorded Type 2, version 1a in excellent condition on 5 sided steel suspension with original ribbon and uncut connecting ring. Mentioned in Paul Schmitts ' Echoes of War' as the the lowest recorded type 2 Bravery medal. Comes with Russian Archive documents and English translation.
