Rainbow Moonstone Sterling wire wrapped pendant


I found this beautiful 20mm polished Rainbow Moonstone with a good blue flash on one side. It was a challenge to wrap with that side facing, so I added a cluster of matching beads and lots of coiled sterling silver wire. It sort of evolved into something quite unique, the photos dont do it justice.


The finished pendant is over 40mm and one of a kind - certainly different!



MOONSTONE - The magical shimmering of Moonstone when it is moved is it’s most striking feature. This is called “adularescence” and used to be associated with the phases of the moon. It is said to be the stone of wishes, intuition, and balance of emotions. New beginnings, Re-birth, Motherly love, support, encouragement. Moonstones foster happiness, good fortune, nurturing, mothering, unselfishness, humanitarian love, hope, spiritual insight, new beginnings, abundance and ancient wisdom. Moonstone is protective of women and nature, and is a sacred stone of the moon goddess. Associated with the zodiac sign of Cancer.

 

Wire Wrapping:

My pendants are totally handmade, gemstones and crystals made into unique pendants by the use of sterling silver or 14k gold filled wire only. Sometimes many, many yards of it! No glues, no fixatives, just the tension of the wire holding it together. The description of gemstones that most appeals to me is that they are "part of the earth's DNA". Even if you feel they don't have any special metaphysical properties, I am sure you will agree with me that they have an enduring quality and beauty. All my jewellery is one of a kind, created in the inspiration of the moment and made with care. I use quality materials and aim to produce beautiful, affordable items. Each one is unique, as even if I try and repeat a design, it's never quite the same, especially with gemstones!

Posted in a secure padded bag, and I will fit in as many items as possible before adding additional postage. Registered post is required for items over $50 and is free for purchases over $75.00
