Well ,,,,,,,,, you have possibly heard of the " Trike of Death " ????
You know , there's a funny guy called " HOLLYWOOD " , trying to sell a poorly suspended , overpowered , 3 wheeled yellow death machine
he calls the " Trike of Death " right here on Ebay . Apparently it's a yellow Yamaha YFM175 or something like that anyway .
Very funny , look it up and have a read , l killed myself laughing . Not quite sure why it was so funny , but it was .
Anyway , what we have here is the " Minibike of Death " , ( hope he doesn' t go me for plaguerism ? ) which l think is a
close cousin to the " Trike of Death " ??
What we have here is a really interesting little minibike called a Daytona Trail Cat 125 .
These bikes were imported by Bob Jane Imports back in the early seventies from Taiwan .
I think they were manufactured by a company called Eastern Star or Powerdyne Vehicles , not sure which one ?
The term minibike conjures up thoughts of little Johnny or Mary happilly riding their little two wheeled machines around the yard
with smiles as wide as Texas .
Well , let me warn you right now , this is not the bike you would buy for little Johnny or Mary to put under the Christmas tree
in a couple of months time . Let me explain .
What was Bob Jane thinking , l don't know ?? Okay , this Trail Cat has a 125cc rotary valve two stroke engine which puts
out somewhere around 12 to 15 horses with a 4 speed manual gearbox and 8 or 10 inch rims . It pulls wheelis in 2nd , and even 3rd
gear without any clutch work or any body english !!
Just wick the throttle and up she goes , yep , straight up , unbelievable .
And that was after l changed the original rear shocks with a nice new set that are a few inches longer !
If you win the auction the original shocks will go with the bike . ( It almost looks a bit Chopper-ish with the orig shocks ) .
The bike itself is a real time capsule and is in remarkable condition with matching eng / frame numbers .
The paintwork is nice on both frame and tank and the chrome is also quite good .
The engine runs as tight as a drum and the bike clearly has done little to no ride time .
The rims have been powdercoated . The bars are nice and straight and lights / controls are original & intact .
The seat has no tears in it and is the original , however , the foam is slowly disintergrating as it does and the seat has lost
some of its height as a result .
These bikes are extremely rare and with a little bit of fiddling here and there this bike could be improved even further .
For sale " as is , where is " , with no warranty , express or implied .
Contact required within 24 hours of auction end , with payment by direct deposit within a further 48 hrs .
No cash on pickup please . ( Unless l know you ) .
