Description

This auction is for a Fantastic Russian Fob Medal / Pendant. It could be worn as a Pendant or on an Albert Chain...

The medal is stamped "84" for .875 parts silver which was the Russian silver standard at the time this was made..

On the front of the medal is a factory which I have been reliably informed is the Krengolm Cotton factory in Estonia. The factory was established in 1857 on the island of Krengolm on the river Narva and was manufactory  8% of the all cotton production in Russia. It closed down in 1907 hence the Russian inscription on the pendant `Krengolmskaya Manufaktura 1857-1907'.

The detail on the medal / pendant is superb, and the design really lovely.

The Fob / Pendant measures 36mm x 34mm and weighs 16.3 grammes.

I doubt if many of these were made, a rare and fascinating item...

Condition

The Fob / Pendant is in excellent original condition.
