These four magazine speak of resourcefulness and “making do” with what you have - and unlike the home beautiful magazines of the 50’s onwards, their advertising is more practical and less decorative. I wonder what the home makers of 1947 would thing of our modern day excesses. Although these magazines have all seen better days they are still fascinating page turners, valuable resources and archives of Australian Home History.
