Vintage Russian Open Salt Pot







 Delightful open Russian Melchoir or mustard pot with enamelled leaves and berries on silver metal with three feet and with a separate clear glass insert.

Stamped on the base is 5 I-OMMET, 2R 80K. I-0MMET is the manufacturer and I have researched and found that the other numbers & letters represent the price of the item at the time of manufacture: 2 Rubels, 80 Kopecks.

This unusual and lovely little pot measures 6.5cm at widest point and  3.3cm high. The glass insert, measuring 5.5 cm diameter X 3cm high, fits snugly inside the metal holder and does not fall out when upturned.

Condition is excellent.
