Caption: (In Ink) Some of Miley's Winnings. This is an original real photo postcard showing 2 trophy cups and 7 fobs, being trophies won by champion axeman Charles Miley, who lived near bright in North Eastern Victoria. The inscription on the cup on the right is easy to read with a magnifying glass and is the "Collie King Interstate Cup" won by Charles Miley. The cup on the left is harder to read, but is from "The Royal Wood Chopping Sawing and Axemen's Association". The fobs are labelled and represent wins at: Perth Western Australia, Tasmania, Wangaratta (twice), Ballarat, Melbourne, and Bright. Charles Miley did hold wood chopping world records. Photographer: Not identified.
Not Postally used. Ink Writing on back and below image on front. Date: Not dated, this appears to be from the 1910's, but I can not read any dates on any of the items in the image. Condition: This is in poor condition - This shows various creases and heavy wear, loss to the upper right corner, adhesion to the back, soiling and browning, POOR condition overall but would still be of interest to someone interested in axemen's history or competitive woodchopping. Check my other auctions this week for more postcards. Any number will ship together for the same price as below.
