This is a collectors model, diecast metal in 1:43 scale by IXO, brand new in original packaging.
In 1962 Renault released its new R8 model to replace the Dauphine. While sharing the same layout and mechanical features, there were a number of improvements including an enlarged 950cc engine with 44bhp and four wheel disc brakes. The Gordini version was introduced in 1964 with the 1100cc engine which it shared with the 8 Major, suitably modified to produce 90bhp and driving through a five speed gearbox.
This 1:43 scale model features accurate wheels with plated hubcaps and correct profile tyres. The body is very nicely proportioned and depicts the original car very accurately with accurate colour scheme and all correct markings and decals. Other features include fine windscreen wipers, rear view mirror, plated bumpers, fine window frames, air vents, exhaust system plus all the correct badges and decals.
The interior is also very well done, with steering wheel and column switches, gearshift and handbrake, detailed dashboard and instrument panel, detailed door trims and correctly contoured and coloured seats.
The model comes mounted on a black plastic plinth with a clear plastic display box. This item is brand new in original packaging.

IXO
The IXO company makes a large range of detailed scale models in 1:43 scale. These items are part of their French Classics series. All items are well researched and produced with good attention to detail. They produce a number of series of models covering subjects such as race and rally cars, street cars, motorcycles and much more.
These models collectors items and are not toys. They are made in China in diecast metal with other materials such as plastics for detailing.

Insurance
I do pack all items very well to minimise the risk of damage, however I cannot be responsible for loss or damage while goods are in transit. If this is a concern to you I suggest postal insurance.
Within Australia -
Registered Post costs an extra $2.50 and covers your parcel against loss for up to $100.00. Extra cover is available at $1.10 per $100.00 cover.
International -
Postal insurance is available for $8.00 and this covers you against loss up to $100.00. Extra cover is available and costs $2.00 per $100.00 cover.
