This is a restored 1950's ASTOR

Valve Mantel Radio

This is an attractive and rare, retro-looking valve mantel radio from ASTOR dating from the 1950's.

This is a 5-valve model featuring a large, handsome dial knob connected to an arrow-shaped pointer, sitting above an open-faced dial - with the major stations of the era listed for all Australian states.

The three knobs down the left are On/Off, Vol, and Tone Control.

Casing is 50's hard plastic with gold trim. the 'ASTOR' badge is prominent in the centre of the speaker grill, and is in good order.

This particular example has been restored and is now in excellent working condition. Volume is loud and clear, with that mellow valve tone!

The only points to mention are an area of deterioration on the dial toward the bottom where backing colour has come away from the dial facia, and the two clips holding the case together on the underside are probably not original.

Guaranteed to be in excellent working order, and to look great in your display!
