this amazing AGE HOTPOINT ( AWA ) valve radio is in excellent original used condition & a lovely example of this highly collectable & popular early 50's model

classic lusterous mottled brown bakelite case

eye-catching oval shaped central tuning dial that simply glows when lit up

original matching tuning knobs & factory fitted speaker cloth

superb & amazing rich colours

in working order

original 'AGE' & 'HOTPOINT' decals

a nice working example of this very popular & highly collectable model, that was made by AWA under the AGE Hotpoint brand...do not miss out

measuring...32cm long...19cm high...17cm deep ( approx )

PLEASE NOTE...before listing i plugged the radio in & switched it on...the dial & valves inside all lit up...&...within about 40seconds ( warm up time ) it was working with good sound...i was able to tune in 5 or so local stations which no doubt could be improved with a better/newer aerial ( which is very easy & cheap to fit by any electrical technician ) as reception varies greatly from location to location...PLEASE REMEMBER though that this is an old electrical item & i can give no guarantees as to its continued working condition...most vintage radios are now used simply for their display appeal & i would also advise that if it were to be used regularly that it be checked over by a professional to ensure 100% safety ( as should all vintage electrical items )

CONDITION...the radio is in great condition...it appears complete with the...dial...tuning knobs...speaker grill / cloth...cord & plug all present & in great condition...

the case is fantastic for its age & has been professionally polished/cleaned...it has no chips, cracks or repairs... & the lovely mottled brown bakelite retains its original beautiful soft lustre...

overall this fantastic 50's radio displays & presents superbly & would be an ideal retro feature in any room especially a 50's / 60's themed kitchen or lounge...this model is featured on pages 228 -229 of the new & exciting book on bakelite radios RADIO DAYS ( which is shown in picture 12 & not included in this auction ) but can be purchased by simply Checking out my other items! please read below for more details
