How to measure curtains yourself and save!

Our Ready To Hang Made To Measure Curtains are all Custom Manufactured to exactly the sizes provided by you, so it is imperative that you follow these steps when measuring for curtains.

First decide on the following ….

type of curtain and heading. type of track or rod.
where would you like track to be placed.

Industry advise is to mount tracks outside of the top architrave, approximately 100mm above it. If at all possible, track should start and end 200mm beyond either side of the window for curtains to neatly stack clear of the frame when drawn open. We also advise that tracks have a return on either end to form a seal like function to minimise heat/cold loss.

When taking measurements, it is important to do the following:

Use a steel tape measure and measure in millimetres
Industry standards - measure the width first then the length to where you want the curtains to end.
With a Rod you measure from the bottom of the Ring to determine the Length, with a Track you measure from the top of the track for the drop.
Always do a sketch it helps us to make sure of a perfect fitting curtain for you.
After writing down all the measurements go back and double check them making sure you have the WIDTH first and the Length second.

ADVANTAGES OF HAVING CURTAINS WITH BLOCKOUT LININGS ATTACHED AS A SECOND LAYER.

Blockout Quality Coated curtains are great but when you have Curtains that are LINED with a Blockout lining as a second layer behind the curtains...

It changes the whole degree of blocking heat/cold and light.
The attached blockout linings along with the curtain fabric further reduces the amount of heat coming through the glass windows.
Much better for acoustics in Home Theatres.
Better protection for the curtain fabric - slows fading.
Homes under the aeronautical flight path is best to have blockout lined curtains - lesser noise.
Great drapeability for curtains - softer fall for fabric without acrylic coating.
Longer lifespan.

It does however increases the cost of curtains

We have in this listing, made to measure a pair of these curtains to suit an EXTRA HIGH window/track. Each of these curtains have been lined with Wilson Triple Coated BlockOut Linings to give you the ultimate in climate control. Stay cool for Summer and Warm in winter.

Curtains have been professionally made by our workroom of 35 years. Bill and Ela manage the workroom and have been manufacturing curtains for top Designers and Interior Decorators.

Fabric seen here for these curtains are polyester silk teffeta with a Crushed Look. A smart plain with a soft delicate handle ensuring a very soft fall for pleats. Easy Care quality with warm hand wash recommended. Regular vacuuming with appropriate attachments highly recomended.

Curtains are finished with RingTop/Eyelets Headings.
