This is a charming vintage Rosenthal Collectible - a hand-painted Collar Button dresser box.

DIMENSIONS: 2.5" wide and 1" high.

These collar button boxes were once common on dressers and vanities and were used to hold removable collar buttons/studs so popular in the early 1900's.  

This has a creamy white background & is decorated with delicate blue forget-me-nots. It has a gold trim which forms a bow tie over a gold button and on the lid is a tiny gold handle. Both lid and base are decorated with the floral pattern.  Hard to see in photo but the artist has also added subtle shading in the background.

MARKS:see photo - "ROSENTHAL BAVARIA".

CONDITION: some wear in the gold trim at top of the round box and the handle has lost some of the gold.  However, no chips, cracks or crazing.

LOVELY ADDITION TO ANY COLLECTION OR DÉCOR.

IMPORTANT:  Piece was sold with tray in fourth photo.  It is not the same maker or artist but, very often in this period, pieces were mixed and matched depending on themes or colors.  See my MZ Austria auction.
