 This piece is a beautiful Royal Doulton Series Ware plate featuring 'Don Quixote and Sancho Panza' the two characters from the famous novel 'Don Quixote'
(El ingenioso hidalgo don Quijote de la Mancha  by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra,) This fantastic plate is in great condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. It has mild crazing as appropriate for a piece of this age. Perfect for your Doulton collection, would look fantastic with a Don Quixote Toby Jug!
 The following backstamp is on this plate: along with D3653 and another stamp that is difficult to read looks like year stamp.

Introduced in the latter part of 1901 to mark the grant of the Royal Warrant by King Edward VII together with the specific right to use the word ROYAL to designate Doulton products. This mark was in general use at Burslem between 1902 and 1922.
