I made these pieces earlier this year. Basically each piece was formed in my hands from a single ball of clay. I enjoy this way of forming objects as it is so free and open to experimenting and just having fun creating. The larger of the two pots has a single raised up leaf on one side
The sculpture is about 170mm high by about 115mm at the widest point of the base. The inspiration for this sculpture is old burnt out tree trunks and formations in rocks and stones. These features seem to find their way into most things I make. You can see some of the rock formations in the photo included below. This is part of the coastline near where we live here in mandurah WA. The formations are like trees that have turned into rock of some kind. I don't know what the scientific explaination is but I love the colours and textures and forms of this landscape. The area is called Seascapes.
The pots are about 75mm high by 115mm top rim and 50mm high by 85mm top rim. They both have my mark engraved on the sides and also "seascapes WA 08".
These pieces are made with white clay and have been fired and glazed at the local pottery to stoneware temperature. The glaze is oatmeal. I hope you like and may wish to buy, either way thanks for visiting.
I currently have other items listed on my ebay. please view before moving on.
