COMPLETE SET GANJIFA CARDS


Ganjifa cards have a history going back to the 16th century but very few are made today.I do not know how old this set is, only that they are hard to find.
Each pack of cards has sets of 12 cards and the sets are of  different numbers. This pack 96. Each suit has 10 cards with numbers, a king and a vizier.

The cards are made by a process that is like pata chitra, layers of cotton cloth dipped in glue and are mainly made by women.

This set of cards, and it is hard to find a complete set, are in very good condition. The backs of the cards are plain and just a few, maybe half a dozen have little flecks of the oil paint missing. I am listing a photo of a few of these slightly imperfect cards. The diameter of the cards is approx. 2.75 inches ( 7 cm).
