The finished display also includes the personal autographs of the entire World Team squad and all 'The Black Caps' plus several photos and crests. Early in 2005 thanks to the enormous efforts of several of crickets administrators, players and sponsors, Shane Warne brought a FICA World XI squad down to New Zealand to play 'The Black Caps' in three (3) one day internationals to raise money for the NZ Cricket Association Tsunami Appeal. These three ODIs were always going to be special, emotional affairs and with the wealth of world-wide cricket talent that "answered the call" the games were compulsive watching :) The 15-man World XI squad was : SHANE WARNE : AUSTRALIA (CAPTAIN), SANATH JAYASURIYA : SRI LANKA (VICE-CAPTAIN), ANDY BICHEL : AUSTRALIA, GREG BLEWETT : AUSTRALIA, MATTHEW ELLIOTT : AUSTRALIA, IAN HARVEY : AUSTRALIA, GRAEME HICK : ENGLAND, LANCE KLUESENER : SOUTH AFRICA, NICK KNIGHT : ENGLAND, MUTTIAH MURALITHARAN : SRI LANKA, JONTY RHODES : SOUTH AFRICA, KUMAR SANGAKKARA : SRI LANKA, CRAIG SPEARMAN : NEW ZEALAND, HEATH STREAK : ZIMBABWE, CHAMINDA VAAS : SRI LANKA. To take on that monumental line-up of talent NZCA selected the following 12 'Black Caps' : Stephen Fleming (Captain), Daniel Vettori (Vice-Captain), Nathan Astle, Chris Cairns, Hamish Marshall, Brendan McCullum, Kyle Mills, Jacob Oram, Matthew Sinclair, Scott Styris, Daryl Tuffey, Jeff Wilson (who is a double international as he was also an All-Black) This is the actual shirt that was worn by Shane Warne when he led the World XI during those three ODIs and IT HAS BEEN PERSONALLY SIGNED AND NUMBERED (23) BY SHANE !!!!!! Now if this one-of-a-kind signed shirt wasn't enough the framed display also incudes the ORIGINAL SIGNATURES of the entire World XI squad (that means another Shane autograph too!) AND all 'The Black Caps'. PLEASE NOTE : THESE ARE ORIGINAL, HAND-SIGNED ITEMS, THE SIGNATURES ARE NOT COPIES, FACSIMILIES OR PREPRINTS. The following two photos will show you close-ups of the signatures : That's right, there are twenty eight (28) signatures in this unique display. Shane's signature on the shirt and then the twenty seven signatures (including Shane again) of the players in both squads. The beautifully framed display also includes the following photographs : Captain of The World XI : Shane Warne The fifteen players in the World XI squad The twelve players in The Black Caps squad To set these items off to perfection the finished display also includes the following inserts: Title Bar : Series name and Main Sponsor The official FICA World XI crest The official Black Caps crest The crest of the NZCA Tsunami Relief Appeal fund All of these items have been professionally matted, mounted and framed by 'Insignia International' and the bottom right hand corner features their crest and the display is numbered as a UNIQUE, LIMITED EDITION BEARING THE NUMBER 1/1 - please refer to the following photo: A simply stunning collection of cricketing memorabilia the likes of which you will probably never see again. FINALLY - THE WINNING BIDDER WILL ALSO RECEIVE A PERSONALLY SIGNED LETTER OF AUTHENTICITY FROM MARTIN SNEDDEN (CEO OF NZ CRICKET ASSOCIATION) CERTIFYING ALL OF THE ABOVE :) Simply stunning. |
