Here is a single page ( approx 15" x 10" ) from "The Illustrated London News", for May 1880, with an engraving showing the sinking of the Union Line`s mail steam-ship "American", with the life boats leaving the ship.  Related text on the reverse.

Please note that all my prints, etc., are from original sources and are NOT reprints or later reproductions. They are, in the main, from bound volumes of magazines which invariably results in the print being wonderfully preserved and of excellent quality, although ageing can often produce foxing spots. Very often different grades and thicknesses of paper were used by Victorian publishers and sometimes a magazine can have a different quality of paper ( and printing ) within the same issue. Again, where issues of a magazine were being shipped overseas, a lightweight paper was sometimes used. Publishers would also keep a number of magazines especially to be bound up into annual volumes, which were sold to libraries and wealthier individuals, and again these bound magazines can be of different grades of paper. These volumes gradually become available through booksellers and auctions (and now eBay of course), but obviously there is not an infinite supply and slowly but surely they will become even more scarce and therefore more expensive.
