This is a very nice small banjo mandolin under the name S.S. Stewart. S.S. Stewart was long gone by the time this instrument was made. It appears to be a Slingerland product from the 1920's. I included the word uke in the discription due to its small size. The pot measures 8" across. The scale is approx. 11 5/8" I figure it might be something banjo uke and uke players may be interested in. It's a very well made instrument. Thick birdeye maple pot. Tone ring. All the hardware is intact. Bell Brand tailpiece. Head is in good shape. Home made bridge needs replacing. The maple neck is straight. Fingerboard has a couple hairline cracks. Frets are in good shape. They do need filing along the edge of the fingerboard. Could use a new nut. Good quality tuners are in good shape and work fine. Headstock overlay is also fine. This is a nice rather rare instrument. Sorry, no case. Will pack extremely well. I ship Fedex Ground exclusively within the US. I ship worldwide USPS International Priority Mail. Shipping will be very reasonable. Please E-mail for shipping quotes. Thanks for looking and best of luck! |
