Developed under the concept "My HD to Go", HDRTG1 is the world's smallest, lightest, and slimmest camcorder offering 1920x1080i Full HD video recording. Weighing only 300 grams, TG1 can easily be carried around in pockets or bags, letting you capture life's more "casual" moments. Simply, recording moments for moments sake.
Pure Titanium Body / Scratch Resistance
The Stylish HDRTG1 is the world's first camcorder to incorporate pure titanium it it's body design. This premium Hard Coating also gives the robust body a natural resistance to scratches, so you can be confident carrying the TG1 in your pocket or a bag with other items.
Face Detection
Face Detection technology ensures that family and friends captured with HDRTG1 are always shown at their best! When the camera detects a human face it automatically adjusts focus, colour control and brightness to ensure that faces are always clear and sharp. Face Detection also works in group shots, with up to 8 faces being tracked at once.
Zoom Microphone
The built in Zoom Microphone automatically "zooms" the lens and microphone at the same time. Zooming in on one person in a large crowd will increase the cameras sensitivity to their voice, while other sounds will not be as prominent. The Zoom Microphone closely resembles the natural human experience, where moving closer to a particular object increases the sensitivity to the sound coming from that location.
Quick On
Pressing the "Quick On" button enables "Stand By" mode – perfect for conserving battery power during shooting down time. Simply pressing "Quick on" again will wake the camera up, and let you start shooting in only 1 sec!
Film Roll Index and Face Index
By enabling Film Roll Index it possible to preview the beginning of scenes and create scene indexes set at specified display intervals (3, 6, or 12 seconds and 1 or 5 minutes) – perfect for seeing what was recorded in a long take. This Handycam also features Face Index, allowing you to begin playing scenes simply by pressing the human faces detected during shooting.
4.0 Mega Pixel Still Image Capture
HDRTG1 allows you to capture high quality 4.0 Mega Pixel still images when in dedicated still mode – with flash and red eye reduction! You can also record a 3.0 Mega Pixel still image at the same time as recording full motion video
Backup HD Footage to AVCHD Disc Without a PC!
If you want to take advantage of the long recording times offered by a High Definition Hard Disk Drive Handycam however don't have a PC, DVDirect (VRDMC5) is for you! Simply connect your High Definition Hard Disk Drive Handycam to the device and burn your memories to AVCHD Disc (DVDirect burns AVCHD data files onto standard DVDs). You can then play this disc back on a High Definition Blu-ray player or PS3.(AVCHD Discs are not compatible with Standard DVD players.) For more information on DVDirect, click the icon on the left. DVDirect is an optional accessory for Handycam.
