A marvellous book by David Howarth focusing on British sea power both naval and civilian but predominantly the former. All the heroes are there - Drake, Cook, Pepys, Nelson right back to King Alfred. 382 pages with some great colour plates tracing the story from 460 AD up to the present in a vivid narrative. Inside is very good; the dustjacket with some wear and minor splits and a mark on the top right (see photo).
