THE MUZE DESCRIPTION IS WRONG. THESE BOOKS WERE PRINTED IN 1982 NOT 1983

You are bidding on a luxurious 2 volume, cloth covered set of books on  Hebrew Illuminated Manuscripts in the British Isles: SPANISH & PORTUGESE MANUSCRIPTS. These 2 volumes are long out of print having been published in 1982 in Israel. The first volume gives you all the background material of the Sepharadi Schools of Illumination and the various manuscripts which are reproduced in volume 2. These include -amongst others- the Cambridge Castlian Bible, Ibn Merwas Bible, Kennicot Bible, Hispano-Moresque Haggadah,  altogether there are 215 pages in this volume printed on fine glossy paper.

In volume 2 you have the actual  reproductions (choice samples) of  these manuscripts. There are 8 color reproductions and the rest are in black and white (over 160 pages, each page usually containing about 3 or 4 different  reproductions of manuscripts described in the first volume). There are 176 pages in this volume of JUST manuscript reproductions printed on fine glossy pages, worthy of the finest coffee table! All this comes in an original slip cover box made especially for these 2 volumes.

Measurements: The books measure 12 x 9 inches. Heavy stuff!
