This highly polished Dump pipe, is designed to bolt onto the factory turbo as well as most other upgrade turbos, in the factory position. This means that the stainless steel dump pipe bolts straight in and replaces the super restrictive factory dump pipe. Due to the full length (not half) twin chamber wastegate separator of the dump pipe, the turbo can produce more boost, alot faster than other twin and single chamber dump pipes. The wastegate separator allows for the wastegate's own gas to exit freely and ensures reduced turbulence within the main turbine flow. Built from thick 3.0mm, 60mm diameter SS304 stainless steel pipe and stainless steel flanges, this dump pipe will help to scavenge turbo exhaust gases and help produce faster boost and more hp. Stainless steel flanges will aid in gasket life and reliability with pipes and flanges expanding at the same rate under heat, unlike some other brands which use chromed mild steel flanges. All collectors, welds and ports are hand ported to ensure maximum flow. Grade 304 stainless steel is precision TIG welded for durability and strength. How much power will this Dump Pipe make? Upon installation of the Dump pipe, you will notice the turbocharger spooling a lot quicker and also a very strong increase in mid range and top-end power. We backed up these results on the dyno recently, by testing before and after results of the installation on a Nissan S14 200sx. Modifications on the S14 included stock standard with full exhaust (except for dump pipe), air filter and 10psi boost. After the installation of just the Dump pipe, we experienced an 8kw gain at the wheels and 11nm of torque increase, right throughout the rev range (on the same boost). With a more modified SR20, you should expect to see a higher kw gain, as the car would be more restricted. Response was also increased, with the turbo spooling alot earlier in the RPM range. The sound of the exhaust note changes slighlty, as you should now be able to hear the turbo spooling through the exhaust. This is due to the exhaust gases now being allowed to travel at a higher velocity, which means a clear exit for the 800°C + gases, which results in more power. To maximize your turbines efficiency you need maximum gas flow. A full exhaust including dump pipe should be one of the first modifications to any turbo car and is probably one of the most important parts for generating full turbo power and fuel economy.
