Darth Vader was not originally supposed to wear a facemask. Ralph McQuarrie's concept drawing of Vader boarding the Tantive IV was based on the idea that Vader would fly through space to reach the ship, requiring him to wear a breathing apparatus. The facemask remained and has become a modern-day icon of chilling doom."

Some Examples of what to expect from the 'C' grade system

• C9.5: The most pristine example you can realistically expect to find of a toy. All items are inspected by me before going to auction. Only the best of the best receive this grading. Perfect for all of us mint carded collectors!

• C9: or better: An item that should not have significant shelf wear or other damage. This item should be suitable for most collectors who plan to keep the item in mint condition in its original packaging.

• C7-8: An item that may have shelf wear including bends in corners, bubble dings, or other minor damage. This item should be suitable for less condition sensitive collectors and for all collectors who plan to remove the item from the packaging.
