| This beautiful Sterling
SFL-350G gold open-hole flute is one of a kind!
Featuring a stand-out gold body with gold-plated open-hole
keys, this flute is modelled on the Yamaha YFL-574 – the
benchmark for open hole flutes. This instrument is, of course,
brand new.
This is an open-hole designed flute that plays
in the key of C. It is equipped with offset-G keys and split-E
mechanism. It is highly
responsive and plays with a solid tone, accurate intonation
and produces a crisp, clear sound. The SFL-350G is equipped
with a B-foot meaning that the player can reach low B, not
just C.
Open hole flutes are aimed at the intermediate
to advanced player and are the normal choice for concert-level
players. An open hole flute has
some keys that have a hole through the middle which
the player must cover with their fingertips in
order to facilitate alternate fingerings, "extended
techniques" (e.g. quarter-tones, glissando) and multiphonics.
There is some belief that open hole keys permit louder and
clearer sound projection in the flute's lower range. Open-hole
keys are also needed for some modern "extended" avant
garde pieces, including those requiring the player to play
harmonic overtones, or to manipulate "breathy" sounds
in addition to the traditional "pure" tone.
Also included are silicone plugs to convert the
flute back to a closed hole model. These plugs enable the
player to become used to playing an open hole flute by working
in stages and changing it as necessary.
The Sterling brand is far superior to most flutes
found on eBay, equivalent to the Jupiter brand, but, at around
half the price. Each flute is play tested and quality checked
before shipping ensuring you only get the best.
Comes complete with a durable, velour padded,
French style carry case, micro-fibre
chamois cleaning cloth and cleaning
rod.
These flutes usually sell for upwards of £400.00
in retail stores. |
