This is an SU electric fuel pump that came as a spare with an Austin Healey 100/4 I bought recently. It isn't a model I'm familiar with, and doesn't appear to be original to the Healey. It doesn't have a removeable filter in the alloy body as some do. There is no recognisable SU model number on the pump; the only markings on the body are M C Ld 1, BS1004 cast into the rear of the body, and 141 stamped into the edge of the body. I'm not sure therefore if its high- or low pressure. It does work in the sense that the solenoid operates when power is applied and it produces some pressure, but I can't vouch for the condition of the diaphragm. It appears to be for a negative earth application. |
