When these lamps were first moulded 1500 years ago, the central discus was smashed out so that part could be the central filler hole for the olive oil. This was found in modern day Israel and has been exported with permission from the Israel Antiquities Authority. It is 68x55x23mm. Lamps of this type were made for over 200 years in the Israeli region under Roman rule
