      This Genuine Antique Afshar Tribal Pile Rug from the Village of Deh Bid in Fars Province of the South Iran Has a Hand Spun Wool Pile Finely, Symmetrically Hand Knotted to Unbleached Cotton Warps and Hand Spun Wool Wefts with Both Sides of the Knot Laying Flat. The Exclusive Use of  Vegetable Dyes with Some Excellent Indigo Blues and Greens which almost Sparkle with Light Changes, a Great Range of Madder Brown/Salmon Tones as well as Some Weld Yellow Combined with this Structure, Materials and Extremely Well Balanced Design Layout are Obvious Proof of an Origin among an Afshar Tribal Group over the Period 1910 to 1930 Living in or around the Village of Deh Bid, Fars Province in the South of Iran.        The Large Diamond Medallions which are Well Formed and Filled with Star Motifs sit on a Field of Striped Design and are Surrounded by Borders of Angular Flower Motifs and this is a Rare and Beautiful Example of Afshar Weaving from this Era and Region. This is a Rug for Collectors who Will Recognise its Rarity or Discriminating Decorators with an Eye to Future Investment as this Rug was Created by a Small Group of Afshar Tribal People almost 100 Years Ago. It is 1.55m x 1.3m (5ft 1 inch x 4ft 9 inches), has Been Hand Washed, is Suitable for Use on the Floor where it will last for many, many years and shows mostly good pile with a couple of small lower areas and there are some signs of use at the warp ends and selvedges. See Photos.
