SUZUKI 1983 SHAFT DRIVE CLASSIC TOURING BIKE. This is a bike for you to keep.I bought it to keep eight years ago.I was getting older and my eyesight was failing. It was a bike I could get on and just ride the 400km to SYDNEY or the GOLD COAST without thinking .I bought spares like diff and bottom end and brakes and the like and got a touring fairing,that has leg valances and all!The best part is the no plate.IT'S VICTORIAN REGO PLATE 'GS 1100'-yeah that's right -a standard issue vic plate;green and white with the no-GS1100.I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT when I BOUGHT IT FROM A GUY IN HEALESVILLE(victoria) WHO'D USED IT TO COMMUTE BETWEEN HIS SEMI TRAILER AND HOME .So this bike has always done long trips. Now I haven't ridden it much in the last few years,yet after buying it I used it every day for 2years and it always went great-so Ithink it's a great bike-and now(surprise/surprise)my eyes are better.So I've decided to go modern. It might be a mistake I'll later regret-yet the electronic suspension adjustment button on my new bike just got me!The $30,000 price tag on a2009 model is a bit hard to swallow-it sort of means this whole gs1100g bike is worth about one shocker and a rear wheel off my new bike??Anyway-they say that's progress-hmmm!!!So bid with confidence. I have spares for everything on this bike-and if you want to negotiate to include them I am happy to discuss your request before or after you win the auction .PRESS-ask seller a question to get more details . The bike is at my friend's place because I said he could use it if he cleaned it up a bit;yet he didn't get around to doing that!So it's just been sitting there under cover.. When last being regularly used the GS lived a couple of km's up a dirt road.Please note -THIS BIKE IS NEAR PORT MACQUARIE-AND THAT IS WHERE YOU ARE BUYING IT FROM !We can organise to transport it just about anywhere for you if you win it/so ask me before bidding if you live faraway-the price will vary and must be paid ahead>The bike shop near my Melbourne house recently had one of this model bike for $8000!!and the cost of buying and sending this bike anywhere in OZ is basically less than half that much;and less than 15%of my new bike!We can crate it and organise freight prepaid for overseas buyer. It will be only possible to get it to a freight depot in Sydney or brisbane for overseas buyers-so you need to check on that before bidding if you live elsewhere but in AUSTRALIA..PICKUP IS WELCOME FROM PORT MACQUARIE AREA(NSW)storage is free after payment and your transport agent can access the bike on 48hrs notice . Payment in full is required within 5working days of winning the auction .PAYMENT IS REQUIRED BEFORE PICKUP OR TRANSPORT WILL BE ARRANGED.If you don't like the sound of that then just forget it. I've got no problem waiting till you get a chance to pickup the bike and fairing(which is included)yet i'm selling it for money -so we will get that straight away.ALL QUESTIONS ANSWERED-AND I will post more pics in a few days time.BIDDING STARTS AT $1000-and the winning bidder can elect to buy a choice of spares including a good spare engine bottom -end,for another $1000 after winning.The bike is straight and has a clear title It has had two experienced mature owners. I bought it from the original owner with cash . It is BLACK with gunmetal two tone panelling-looks excellent!All the blinkers and lights are good and there are some staintune stainless steel mufflers mufflers.GOOD luck -and don't hesitate to ask pertinent questions .Finally -this bike IS sold for restoration or collecting and no gaurantee is written or implied /given or offered by the seller in his description . Freight after purchase will be the full responsibility of the new owner. I can get some one to help at the buyers expense. The machine as sold is located NORTH of Sydney in a Holiday location that can be accessed by plane train bus or car. Transport of a motor cycle to a central depot in Sydney from the place of purchase can be arranged through PEARSON's Freight lines of Port Macquarie(who are very reliable and helpful/management includes fellow riders!)HAPPY BIDDING! |
