Judy Garland, ( June 10, 1922 - June 22, 1969), one of the most loved and yet pitied stars of Hollywood, had a rocket ride to fame and an equally plunging fall to her early death in 1969. Known for her ever-popular roll of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, her career and personal life was watched intensely by the media.
I have a number of scrapbooks probably kept by one of her most ardent fans, because the albums trace her history from early stardom through her death. The scrapbooks are very detailed and extensive. All scraps, articles and news clippings are arranged on scrap book pages in seperate albums according to topic. The pages are toned as expected, but the content has remained excellent.
I am selling five of the albums this week in unreserved auctions.
This important album covers the early career of Judy Garland from 1938. The album cover has been covered with cork board and her initials have been cut out on the front cover. In addition to news clips and movie release announcements there are many congratulatory notes and business related papers and notes written by Judy in the album. This coverage is unique and it is a super acquisition for any collector of Judy Garland memorabilia.
The customized album measures 10 1/2" wide x 16" high. It contains about 25 double sided pages creating 50 pages of early Judy Garland memorabelia. . It is in fine condition (keeping in mind that this early scrap book had "Glue spots" that were moistened to attach pics and papers. That is why the pages are wavy).
I will pack it very carefully for shipment.
Thank you for all your positive feedback in the past. I aim to please.
