Shirley Temple Original Composition Doll "Ideal Dolls"

This adorable girl is 

Shirley Temple,
an original composition doll
produced by Ideal Dolls.

Head and Body:  This Shirley Temple doll has original paint on all of her head and body.  There have been no repairs.  Her hazel sleep eyes are original and have not clouded over.  She does have crazing, mainly on her torso and face (photos 5, 6, 9 and 11).  Someone may have used a crazing product on her at one time.  The crazing is not so apparent on this doll.  Her facial features have not been touched up and have normal wear.  Her mouth is open and shows six teeth.  There is a small, chip-like blemish on the top of her forehead (high above the right eye, under the wig - photo 12).  There is some wig glue still stuck on her head.  She has some normal paint rubs at her neck, shoulder (photos 9 and 11) and hip joints.  There are paint rubs on some of her finger tips and the tips of her right big toe and next two toes are chipped (photos 7, 8 and 10).  Her body is a little loose and could use a restringing, although not so loose that this would be necessary.  On the back of her head are the words "18 Shirley Temple Ideal N&T Co." and on the back of her shoulders it says "Shirley Temple."

Clothing:  She wears a reproduction red and white polka dot dress and panties with lace.  The clothing is in excellent condition, except there are two very small, inconspicuous rust marks on the right front shoulder of the dress from the round pin she wears that says, "An original SHIRLEY TEMPLE DOLL."  (The pin is included with the doll, of course.)  She has modern socks and vinyl shoes.

Wig:  The doll comes with a reproduction acrylic wig with many curls and a tag that says, "WEE 3" and on the other side of the tag, "10-11 1/2.  100% Modacrylic synthetic fiber of Japan and USA origin."

Gloria Hunter Dye Doll Collection  This doll is from the Gloria Hunter Dye Doll Collection that was gathered in the 1970s-1990s while the collector was living in Olympia, Washington.  The dolls were acquired from doll shops and doll shows, and from other collectors.  The collection includes a variety of approximately 110 very nice antique, vintage and reproduction dolls, including papier mache, parian, bisque and composition dolls, that were gathered, stored and displayed in an environment free from odors, smoke, mold and mildew.
