   "Silver Birch"

 An arboreal legend, the silver birch has been cultivated for centuries and remains the most popular species in gardens. The birch is a magical kind of tree. In its native lands, throughout the northern hemisphere, the birch is a significant feature in legends, history and lore. All over the world, gardeners know the tree's power too. It is symbolic, when you plant a birch, a garden is born.

Birch trees are enchanting in garden designs, and in all seasons as well. They have graceful deciduous habits, though when in leaf, they have lacy canopies that cast an airy dappled shade. In early spring, the bare branches are lovely, however birches are more often appreciated for their delicately shaped leaves - bright green in spring and summer, and glittering gold in autumn - and also for their bark, which is outstanding in metallic tones.

The Betula pendula is the most common today of all the birch's. It is very adaptable in gardens and easy to grow. Most of the birch trees cooler climates, though this one is known to grow in warmer climates as well.  Packet contains Approx 150 seeds
