Australian made, this is a highly detailed cast whitemetal kit produces a typical industrial single cylinder vertical steam engine as found in many rural sawmills, shearing sheds and light industrial machine shops.

This kit includes the following items to produce the Steam Engine as pictured:

Engine:

  • 1 x cast whitemetal base
  • 1 x tubular brass axle
  • 1 x cast whitemetal flywheel
  • 1 x cast whitemetal drive wheel 
  • 2 x cast whitemetal bearing caps
  • 1 x cast whitemetal cylinder, piston & valves
  • 1 x length of bent wire to connect to load 
  • comprehensive instructions 

 

 

Scale notes: Flywheel measures approx. 18mm in diameter:

  • 2'9" in O scale
  • 5' in HO Scale 

The photos show our steam engine kit, with and without optional boiler and electric motor unit. It is a static model, not 'live steam' but the flywheel and drive shaft can rotate so could be driven 'backwards' by a small electic motor, as in our Dynamo Kit.
