The set comprises two ‘carver’ chairs and four straight chairs.

They are solid silky oak timber (not veneer). Their front legs are ‘turned’. There is beading trim along the top back of chairs. All six have back rest upholstery which is optional and removable. The chairs were French-polished. They have sprung seats.

They were originally part of a dining set purchased new by my parents in 1931.

One of the straight chairs needs repair (one back leg and bottom rail broken). Another has been partly disassembled in preparation for re-gluing. The remaining four would also benefit from re-gluing. Two of the six seats need springs restringing.

Local pickup in Geebung, Brisbane only.
